Job Title: Tooling Design Engineer
Pay Rate: $38 to $40/HR
Duration: 6 months
Location: El Segundo, CA (Onsite)
We are seeking a Tooling Design Engineer to support aerospace manufacturing programs by designing tooling, fixtures, jigs, dies, and support equipment used in production and development environments. This role works closely with manufacturing, operations, suppliers, and engineering teams to deliver safe, efficient, and cost-effective tooling solutions..
- Design and develop tooling, fixtures, assembly jigs, and production support equipment
- Create engineering drawings, inspection plans, and validation documentation
- Review tooling designs for manufacturability and compliance
- Manage tooling projects through procurement and fabrication
- Support suppliers and inspect tooling for quality compliance
- Drive continuous improvement in manufacturing processes and safety
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Manufacturing, or related STEM field.
- 3 years of tooling or manufacturing engineering experience
- Strong proficiency with NX CAD and/or CATIA
- Strong understanding of GD&T (ASME Y14.5)
- Experience with machine shop, fabrication, and tooling processes
- Strong communication and project management skills
- U.S. Citizenship required
Preferred qualifications:
- Aerospace or defense manufacturing background
- Experience with PLM systems
- Vendor management experience
- Stress analysis / FEA experience
- Active DoD Secret Clearance
- Professional Engineer (PE) License
