Job Title: Machine Assembly Operator
Pay Rate: $32.08/Hr
Duration: 12 months
Location: Charlotte, NC
Shift: 5:30 PM to 6:00 AM (Monday to Friday)
This position is for the Power & Energy division.
We are looking for a Machine Assembly Operator
Primary duties for this position include but are not limited to, disassembly, dimensional and visual inspection, cleaning including dust blasting, repair, assembly, and testing of nuclear (Additional certification is required) and fossil valves. The machining path requires the person awarded this job to run manual machines, including radial drills, small lathes, horizontal boring mills, and vertical boring mills. Sets up, adjusts, and operates various machines according to repair/assembly needs.

- Required to lift/move up to 50lbs of materials.
- Read and interpret detailed drawings/sketches, blueprints, manufacturing specifications, and manufacturing instructions, etc., and identify necessary tooling to perform required machining operations.
- Using material handling devices (Jib & B/C cranes and forklifts), loads/unloads parts from machines and/or assists the crane operator.
- Follows our established procedures to operate machinery and equipment.
Requirements:
- Minimum education required: High School diploma or GED
- Must possess 3 years of machining and mechanical experience.
- Ability to obtain fork truck/crane license.
- Ability to use shop math, read and interpret drawings, calculate dimensional targets and perform basic metrology.
- Must be capable of wearing a respirator, and must pass a Process Operator Competency Test.
- Career Readiness/Work Keys Certificate – Silver Status required
- Must be able to pass vision and hearing test.
