Job Title: Laboratory Technician (Electrochemistry)
Pay Rate: $32 to $35/HR
Duration: 12 months
Location: Irvine, CA
- Conduct experiments and perform a variety of technical procedures in the development of materials for electronics applications.
- Work on special PD development projects as guided by supervisors; Strong laboratory and research skills: compliance with all safety regulations, sound lab technique, and good record keeping
- Gather and analyze data using the Albert digital system and provide fast communications to supervisors
- Complete raw material evaluations for replacements and quality
- Complete laboratory batches and coordinate and participate in testing as needed for approval at automotive OEM customers.
- Specific material improvement projects as assigned.
- Design and complete controlled experiments as needed.
- Participate in pilot and plant-scale runs of products under development.
- Assist other internal departments as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in Chemistry-related or Material Science, Polymer Science field from a four-year college or university with 3 years or more related experience in the Epoxy, Rubber, Plastics Compounding, or Coatings Industry; or
- Associate’s Degree (A.A.) in a Chemistry-related or Materials Science field with five or more years of related experience and/or extensive training in Epoxy, Rubber, Plastics Compounding, or Coatings Industry; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment in a team or independently and perform assignments with limited supervision.
- He has hands-on experience and enjoys working with machines and tools, and coming up with new ideas.
- Previous experience in a laboratory environment is preferred.
- Strong problem-solving skills and well-organized.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Strong computer skills: MS Office.
- Self-Starter; collaborative team player with an entrepreneurial spirit and can-do attitude.
- Project management skills: strong work ethic and ability to meet work deadlines.
Typical Equipment
- Lab mixers, scales, hotplates, convection ovens, aging ovens, test panels, basic physical property testing equipment, Instron tensile tester, and various environmental test chambers.
