The Role of Production Superintendent
You’ll take ownership of the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of nitric acid and ammonium nitrate production units, leading teams and driving continuous improvement across the plant.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and promote a strong safety and environmental culture (PSM, OSHA, EPA compliance)
- Deliver production targets while maintaining quality and efficiency standards
- Monitor and improve KPIs including output, reliability, and environmental performance
- Drive root cause analysis and eliminate operational constraints
- Partner closely with maintenance to maximize uptime and reliability
- Provide leadership, coaching, and development for supervisors and operators
- Support capital projects, turnarounds, and process improvements
- Maintain accurate operating procedures and documentation
What We’re Looking For
- 5–10 years’ experience in chemical manufacturing or heavy industrial environments
- Proven leadership experience managing operations teams
- Strong knowledge of process safety (PSM) and regulatory compliance
- Experience with nitric acid / ammonium nitrate processes (highly desirable)
- Demonstrated ability in troubleshooting and continuous improvement
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
