Job title: Director of Talent Acquisition

Location: NYC Metro area. We are an NYC based company with a preference for candidates who are able to easily travel to NYC for in-person activity as needed. Work location is the New York Metropolitan area.

Compensation Range: $145,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year.

About the Role: We are seeking a Director of Talent Acquisition. Recruiting is the backbone of our business. Our ability to grow, retain clients, and deliver successful projects depends on having the right people in the right roles at the right time. This role exists to ensure recruiting is not just a function, but a competitive advantage.

The Director of Talent Acquisition will own the overall talent strategy for the company and directly influence revenue, client satisfaction, and long-term growth. This leader will elevate how we attract, engage, and deploy talent across both field-based roles and our internal corporate team.

Role & Responsibilities

  • You will shape the future of the company's workforce. You will build and lead a recruiting organization that consistently delivers high-quality talent for multiple environments. Your leadership will ensure we are always ahead of demand, not reacting to it.
  • You will strengthen our relationships—with candidates and clients. You will elevate candidate experience and build long-term, trust-based relationships with top professionals. At the same time, you will work closely with clients and internal leaders, proactively presenting available talent and anticipating staffing needs before roles are formally opened.
  • You will turn recruiting into a proactive business partner. Recruiting will no longer be seen as transactional. You will collaborate with executive leadership, operations, and clients to align talent strategy with project timelines, growth plans, and market realities. Your insight will help leaders make better, faster decisions.
  • You will raise the bar for recruiting excellence. You will develop and mentor a recruiting team that operates with ownership, accountability, and creativity. You will set clear expectations, coach consultative recruiting behaviors, and ensure recruiters are delivering candidates that truly meet client needs.
  • You will keep us ahead of the market. You will introduce innovative sourcing strategies, leverage modern tools and AI, and continuously challenge the status quo. You will look for smarter, faster, and more human ways to attract talent in a competitive construction labor market.
  • You will amplify our employer brand. In partnership with marketing, you will shape how we show up to candidates —through job ads, outreach, visuals, and messaging—ensuring our brand reflects the quality, professionalism, and opportunity we offer.
  • This role requires occasional travel to New York, estimated at approximately 5–10% of the time, based on business needs

Skills, Education, and Experience Qualifications:

  • Experience in the AEC industry is required.
  • Sees recruiting as a revenue and growth driver, not just a support function
  • Enjoys building and leading teams while staying close to the work
  • Thinks creatively and strategically in competitive talent markets
  • Is comfortable partnering with executives, clients, and project leaders
  • Embraces innovation, technology, and continuous improvement
  • Must have 7 years of Talent Management experience
