Position: Zscaler Administrator
Position Location: Pittsburgh, PA, Dallas, TX, Birmingham, AL, Phoenix, AZ, Strongsville, OH - Hybrid - 3 days in office, 2 remote
Acceptable time zone(s): EST preferred, CST is okay
Days of the week: Monday-Friday
Working Hours (Flexible): 8:00 am-5:00 pm

Function of the Group: Network security operations and policy management

Team Dynamic: Working with the Zscaler team – 7-8 engineers on the team
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Configure, manage, and optimize Zscaler solutions (ZIA, ZPA, and other modules) to align with organizational security policies and business needs.
- Implement and maintain secure access policies, including URL filtering, firewall rules, SSL inspection, and DLP configurations.
- Monitor and troubleshoot Zscaler platform performance, resolving issues related to connectivity, policy enforcement, and user access.
- Collaborate with IT and security teams to integrate Zscaler with existing systems, such as SIEM, Identity Providers (Azure AD), and endpoint solutions.
- Conduct regular audits of Zscaler configurations to ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001) and internal policies.
- Provide technical expertise for Zscaler upgrades, patches, and new feature rollouts.
- Assist in creating and updating documentation for Zscaler configurations, processes, and procedures.
- Support end-user access issues, including troubleshooting Zscaler client connector and application access problems.
- Participate in incident response and root cause analysis for security events related to Zscaler.
- Train and mentor internal IT staff on Zscaler best practices and administration.
Must Have Technical Skills:
Level 2 - 3-5 years:
- 3 years of experience administering Zscaler solutions (ZIA, ZPA, or equivalent cloud security platforms).
- Strong understanding of cloud-based security architectures, zero-trust principles, and secure access service edge (SASE) frameworks
- Hands-on experience with configuring Zscaler policies, including web filtering, firewall, DLP, and bandwidth control.
- Familiarity with identity management systems (e.g., Azure AD, SAML) and their integration with Zscaler.
- Experience with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk) for log analysis and monitoring.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001) and compliance requirements.
Flex Skills/Nice to Have:
- Python
- Proficiency in networking concepts (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, GRE, IPsec) and troubleshooting network connectivity issues.
Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities, strong communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Education/Certifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Certifications: Zscaler certifications (e.g., Zscaler Certified Cloud Professional, ZCCP-IA, ZCCP-PA)
