What are the responsibilities and job description for the Host/Hostess position at Indian Pueblo Cultural Center?
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Schedules dining reservations and arranges parties or special services for diners.
- Greets guests, escorts them to tables, and provides menus.
- Adjusts complaints of patrons.
- Provides prompt and courteous service to patrons.
- Inspects dining room serving stations for neatness and cleanliness, and requisitions table linens and other dining room supplies for tables and serving stations.
- Computes bills, itemizes lists and balances tickets.
- Makes change, cashes checks and issues receipts or tickets to patrons.
- Records amounts received and prepare reports of transactions.
- Reads and records total shown on cash register tape and verify it against cash on hand.
- Quotes prices and describes features of items for which money is received.
- Gives cash refunds or issues credit memorandums to customers for returned merchandise.
- Contributes to a team effort and accomplishes related results as required.
- Performs other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
Some experience in the restaurant or food service area preferred. Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screen and background investigation.
Knowledge, Abilities, Skills, and Certifications:
- Knowledge of dining and food maintenance operations and customer service.
- Knowledge of all menu items including entrees, side dishes, beverages and deserts.
- Ability to provide excellent customer service.
- Ability to communicate effectively in the English language, both verbally and in writing with other staff and general public.
- Ability to service customers in a professional appearance and manner.
- Ability to follow instructions and work in a stressful and busy environment.
Salary : $12 - $14
