About The Role
The attorney will advise and represent insurers in complex coverage and extra-contractual disputes, with responsibility for coverage analysis, litigation strategy, discovery, depositions, motion practice, and client counseling.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle insurance coverage and extra-contractual litigation matters
- Analyze policy language, coverage issues, and potential exposure
- Manage first-party and third-party coverage disputes
- Draft pleadings, dispositive motions, briefs, coverage analyses, and other substantive documents
- Develop and manage discovery strategy
- Take and defend depositions
- Evaluate liability, damages, and litigation risk
- Handle matters in state and federal court
- Communicate directly with clients regarding coverage positions, strategy, and case developments
- Independently manage multiple matters while collaborating with partners and other attorneys
- 3 years of insurance coverage, bad-faith, or related litigation experience
- Active Colorado Bar admission required
- Experience analyzing complex insurance policies and coverage issues
- Experience with discovery, depositions, and substantive motion practice
- Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and advocacy abilities
- Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines independently
- Experience in state and federal court is strongly preferred
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and collaborative
