About the Role
Impact Support Services is seeking a strategic and experienced Director of Human Resources to lead our HR department and shape the future of our workforce. In this pivotal leadership role, you will be responsible for the full spectrum of Human Resources functions, from high-level strategic planning and budget development to ensuring rigorous regulatory compliance.
As a key advisor to senior leadership, you will supervise the HR team, ensuring our organizational culture remains supportive, professional, and aligned with our long-term goals.
Key Responsibilities
- HR Strategy & Organizational Leadership: Partner with the Executive Team to design and implement HR initiatives, policies, and professional development programs that align with organizational goals. Stay current on industry trends to ensure the organization remains an employer of choice.
- Regulatory Compliance & Advocacy: Act as the organization’s primary authority on federal, state, and local employment laws. Ensure compliance with DOL and CARF standards while overseeing FMLA and Worker’s Compensation claims.
- Talent Acquisition & Hiring Management: Execute best practices for hiring and talent development, in collaboration with the HR Specialist, to develop strategies to attract diverse talent and oversee the recruitment lifecycle to fill positions efficiently.
- Total Compensation & Performance Management: Serve as the primary plan administrator for employee benefits and compensation programs, recommending improvements to remain competitive. Lead the performance appraisal process, providing high-level coaching and support to managers and employees on all personnel and performance-related matters.
- Compensation & Performance Management: Address HR inquiries, resolve employee issues, oversee the performance appraisal process, and provide management support on personnel matters across the organization.
- Operational Excellence & Culture: Manage the HR departmental budget and systems (HRIS) to ensure data accuracy and operational efficiency. Uphold organizational policies and foster a supportive, service-oriented work culture that prioritizes exemplary internal customer service.
- Risk Management & Quality Assurance: Oversee the annual Risk Management Plan updates and ensure the integrity of HR data through regular audits of files, HRIS, and benefits. Manage the execution of required background and record checks (FCSR, LEIE, Sam.gov) to ensure organizational safety.

Education & Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in human resources or a related field required. Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience: 5 years of progressive HR leadership experience required. Non-profit experience a plus.
- Certification: Human resource certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is preferred.
