Direct Support Professional - Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for Day Services
Job Summary: Works directly with individuals, in groups between one and six, to provide supports needed for individuals to participate in activities and progress on individual goals while addressing any additional medical needs outlined in their IP. Services are varied and may occur in a variety of settings. The DSP works as a member of a team and reports to a Program Supervisor and also receives support from the Day Service Registered Nurse.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Engage individuals to encourage participation in meaningful activities
- Submit detailed daily documentation for individuals supported within 24 hours of service
- Implement individual plans and goals, encouraging individuals to do as much independently as they are able
- Provide oversight and assistance to individuals during transportation, meal preparation, medication administration, and personal care
- Specific CNA tasks may be assigned when working with an individual requiring medical exception care
- Maintain positive and effective communication/ rapport with individuals, coworkers, and stakeholders.
- Support individuals safely in the community and while participating in activities at Impact Support Services
- Represent Impact Support Services positively in the community- remaining engaged, positive, and appropriate
- Report to work daily on time and maintain a positive attendance record
- Keep management apprised of information relevant to individuals or the program, as appropriate
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:

- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to interact positively and effectively with a wide variety of people
- Ability to complete detailed, thorough documentation in a timely manner
- Knowledge and demonstration of best practices and person centeredness
- Ability to creatively problem solve and modify activities to meet the need of the individual being supported
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- GED or High School Diploma required
- Experience working with people with disabilities preferred
REQUIRED LICENSING or CERTIFICATIONS:
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant certification issued by the state of Missouri
- Class E Missouri Driver’s License and proof of valid vehicle insurance
- Successful completion of criminal history background check
- Complete and maintain all certifications required by the agency or management
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
