Job Description: Immaculate Conception School is seeking an innovative and collaborative STREAM Teacher for grades PreK-8 who is passionate about interdisciplinary, project-based learning. The ideal candidate will design and deliver engaging learning experiences that integrate science, technology, religion, engineering, arts, and mathematics, while fostering creativity, critical thinking, and real-world problem solving. This teacher will inspire students to explore connections between faith and learning, and cultivate a classroom environment rooted in curiosity, collaboration, and respect.
Education Required: Bachelor's degree
Essential Duties:
- Designs and implements interdisciplinary STREAM lessons aligned to curriculum standards and real-world applications;
- Facilitates project-based learning experiences that promote inquiry, innovation, and problem-solving;
- Integrates technology and hands-on learning experiences into daily instruction;
- Connects STREAM concepts to Catholic teachings and encourages ethical and responsible use of knowledge;
- Creates a classroom environment that promotes active learning, collaboration, and creativity;
- Establishes and maintains strong classroom management systems to support a structured and engaging learning environment;
- Differentiates instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners;
- Uses a variety of assessment strategies, including performance-based assessments and student projects;
- Communicates effectively, efficiently, and responsibly with students, parents, colleagues, and school leadership;
- Collaborates with faculty to support cross-curricular initiatives and school-wide programs (e.g., STREAM Expo, etc.);
- Accounts for student attendance and punctuality;
- Follows professional ethics in all work-related activities;
Preferred Qualifications:
- NJ Standard Certification or CEAS/CE or working toward certification (Science, Technology, Engineering, or related field preferred);
- Experience with project-based learning and interdisciplinary instruction;
- Strong understanding of STEM/STREAM best practices;
- Experience with educational technology, makerspaces, or coding platforms;
- Familiarity with current research in instruction and innovation;
- Effective classroom management techniques;
- Ability to design and deliver instruction to diverse learners;
- Strong collaboration and communication skills;
- Should be a role model of the Catholic faith’s teachings, including personal speech and behavior, and Mass attendance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field (required)
- Valid teaching certification (or eligibility) in Elementary Education (preferred)
- Experience in a classroom setting (preferred)
- Practicing Catholic or willingness to support the Catholic mission of the school
- Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills
All applicants need to complete Virtus training and will need to have NJ Department of Education fingerprinting before entering the classroom.
