Plant Controller

Location: Spartanburg, SC

A leading multi-billion-dollar international automotive supplier is seeking a Plant Controller to join its high-volume manufacturing facility in Spartanburg. This is a key leadership role within a 600-employee plant, offering the opportunity to directly influence financial performance, operational efficiency, and strategic decision-making.

Must-Have Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Proven experience in manufacturing accounting and cost analysis
• Strong expertise in financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting
• Experience working in a plant or production environment

• Automotive industry experience

Position Overview

The Plant Controller serves as the financial leader of the facility, responsible for overseeing all plant-level financial operations. This role partners closely with plant leadership to drive profitability, improve cost efficiency, and ensure compliance with corporate policies and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting

• Prepare and analyze financial statements including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports
• Monitor plant performance against budget and identify improvement opportunities
  
  

Budgeting & Forecasting

• Lead the annual budgeting process and maintain accurate financial forecasts
• Provide ongoing financial insights and updates to plant leadership
  
  

Cost Analysis

• Evaluate production costs, labor, materials, and overhead
• Identify cost-saving initiatives and efficiency improvements
  
  

Inventory Management

• Oversee inventory accuracy across raw materials, WIP, and finished goods
• Prevent excess inventory and stock shortages
  
  

Internal Controls & Compliance

• Maintain strong internal controls aligned with GAAP
• Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and company policies
  
  

Audit Coordination

• Support internal and external audits, ensuring accuracy and transparency
  
  

Team Leadership

• Lead and develop the plant accounting team, including payroll, AP, and AR functions
  
  

Business Partnership

• Collaborate with operations and plant leadership to support strategic decisions and drive financial performance
