Commodity Manager - Resin (Plastics)

We're looking for a Commodity Manager to lead procurement strategy for a plastics and chemicals manufacturer with facilities across the US. This role owns sourcing for resins, TiO2, carbon black, and chemical additives, and plays a key part in driving cost savings, supply continuity, and supplier performance across the business.

What you'll be doing:

• Manage purchasing requirements across US facilities, maintaining detailed vendor data, pricing history, and contracts
• Lead supplier selection, quotation processes, total cost of ownership analysis, and contract negotiations
• Conduct market analysis to track trends, cost drivers, and technology shifts in the supply base
• Build strong supplier relationships through site visits, audits, and performance evaluations
• Develop commodity strategies to maximize purchasing leverage and cost efficiency
• Lead cost reduction workshops and corrective action processes
• Partner cross functionally with Procurement, Supply Chain, Regulatory, Quality, Sales, Technical Services, and Operations to mitigate supply risk
  
  

What you bring:

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Logistics, Chemistry, or a related field
• 5 years of procurement experience, ideally in plastics or chemicals
• Strong background in supplier relationship management and strategic sourcing
• Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI skills (Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central a plus)
• Ability to interpret blueprints and engineering documents
• Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills
• Comfort managing multiple projects independently
• Willingness to travel as needed
  
  

Compensation for this role is $95,000 to $100,000 annually, depending on experience, with a full benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).
