Controller

Our client is looking for a Controller who will lead all accounting and financial reporting functions for a vertically integrated manufacturing business. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, regulatory compliance, and disciplined cost accounting.

*This position requires you to be in-office 5 days a week on the westside of Los Angeles*

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP

• Prepare and review consolidated financial statements within a multi-entity.

• Establish and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and documentation

• Partner with FP&A to support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis

• Develop cost accounting frameworks and oversee inventory valuation and controls

• Partner with operations to analyze cost drivers, improve margins, and enhance production efficiency

• Drive automation and process improvement initiatives to support rapid growth and operational scale

• Explore AI and advanced analytics solutions to streamline accounting processes, including but not limited to automated reconciliations, and anomaly detection in inventory and cost data.

• Build, manage, and mentor the accounting team; Establish performance expectations, workflows, and professional development plans.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

• CPA strongly preferred

• 7–12 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a Controller or leadership role

• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting

• Experience with inventory-intensive and/or manufacturing environments

• Experience in private equity-backed or high-growth environments
