Position Summary
The Prep Cook is responsible for preparing ingredients and menu components for daily dining service, banquets, private events, and special culinary programs.
This position plays a critical role in ensuring the kitchen is organized, properly stocked, and fully prepared for successful service. The ideal candidate is reliable, efficient, organized, and committed to maintaining high standards of food quality, sanitation, and preparation.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare ingredients and menu components according to established recipes, production sheets, and culinary standards
* Wash, peel, cut, portion, measure, and prepare food products for service
* Accurately label, date, rotate, and store food products
* Maintain proper production levels while minimizing waste
* Support daily à la carte dining, banquets, private events, and special culinary programs
* Communicate product needs, shortages, quality concerns, and preparation status to culinary leadership
* Maintain clean, organized, and sanitary preparation areas
* Follow all food-safety, sanitation, and workplace-safety procedures
* Properly clean and maintain kitchen equipment, utensils, and workspaces
* Assist with receiving, organizing, and storing food products
* Maintain awareness of upcoming menus, events, and production requirements
* Assist other culinary stations and team members as needed
* Complete assigned preparation tasks accurately and within established timelines
* Contribute to a professional, respectful, and team-oriented kitchen environment
Ideal Candidate
* Previous prep cook or professional kitchen experience preferred
* Basic knife skills and food-preparation knowledge
* Ability to follow recipes, production lists, and verbal instructions
* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
* Dependable, punctual, and accountable
* Able to work efficiently without sacrificing quality
* Positive attitude and willingness to learn
* Comfortable receiving coaching and feedback
* Able to work independently and as part of a team

Physical Requirements
* Ability to stand and work for extended periods
* Ability to safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds

* Ability to safely use knives and commercial kitchen equipment
Schedule
This position may include mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays based on the needs of club operations.
