Director of Facilities
Reports To: General Manager / COO
Mission
The Director of Facilities provides strategic leadership, operational oversight, and administrative management for all Club facilities, building systems, maintenance operations, fleet, equipment, and capital assets. This position is responsible for protecting Idle Hour Country Club's physical infrastructure while ensuring members and guests experience a safe, attractive, and exceptionally maintained environment every day.
Strategic Responsibilities
Protect Tomorrow
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive Facilities Master Plan.
- Prepare annual operating and capital budgets.
- Develop a five-year capital replacement plan.
- Evaluate facility conditions and recommend improvements.
- Lead preventative maintenance strategy.
- Develop departmental SOPs and operational standards.
- Manage life-cycle planning for major building systems and equipment.
- Support clubhouse renovation and capital improvement projects.
- Ensure regulatory compliance and risk management.
- Develop emergency preparedness and business continuity plans.

Administrative Responsibilities
Protect Today So Tomorrow Runs Better
- Develop and manage the departmental operating budget.
- Maintain a computerized preventative maintenance program.
- Manage the Club's work order system.
- Maintain comprehensive equipment and asset inventories.
- Track warranties, service contracts, and replacement schedules.
- Maintain maintenance records and regulatory documentation.
- Prepare monthly departmental reports.
- Track departmental KPIs.
- Obtain and evaluate vendor proposals.
- Manage contractor agreements and project documentation.
- Maintain maintenance SOPs.
- Support annual capital planning.
Leadership Responsibilities
- Recruit, train, coach, and develop the Facilities team.
- Establish performance expectations and accountability.
- Conduct regular one-on-one meetings with direct reports.
- Build a culture of ownership, safety, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
- Coordinate effectively with Golf Course Maintenance, Culinary, Housekeeping, Aquatics, Racquets, Wellness, Administration, and outside contractors.
QualificationsRequired
- Five or more years of facilities or maintenance leadership experience.
- Strong knowledge of commercial building systems.
- Experience managing preventative maintenance programs.
- Budget and project management experience.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Proven leadership ability.
Preferred
- Private club, resort, hotel, healthcare, university, or commercial facilities experience.
- CMMS/work order software experience.
- OSHA or facilities certifications.
- Mechanical, electrical, HVAC, or construction background.
Software Experience
Candidates should possess working knowledge of, or the ability to quickly learn:
