Are you someone who loves the outdoors, has a passion for rural health and would like to work for the Department of Health and Welfare? DHW is currently seeking motivated candidates to provide overall leadership and direction for the newly established Idaho Office of Rural Health Transformation (IORHT) as the full-time, benefited, limited-service RHT Senior Project Manager and implementation of the 5-year, multimillion dollar RHT grant. This includes advancing the federal grant, the Office and DHW priorities while managing all aspects of the high-profile and complex natured work in this position.
This position is located in downtown Boise.
This position is not eligible for telework.
This is a limited-service position. Length of limited-service appointments are determined by the availability of funds such as grants, alternative funding sources and/or timeframes such as pilot projects, alternative funding sources or program termination.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
You must possess all the minimum qualifications below to pass the exam for this position. Please make sure your resume or work history supports your meeting the minimum qualifications for this position. Failure to do this may disqualify you from being considered for this position. It is highly recommended to attach a one-page cover letter to your application to demonstrate how you meet the requirements below.
- Experience managing staff.
- Experience managing major projects including development of project scope, goals, work plans, timelines, and implementation strategies.
- Experience developing measurement processes/methods for assessing progress toward goals and project outcomes.
- Experience preparing and presenting oral presentations to groups.
- Experience developing and monitoring contacts.
Experience above typically requires at least one year of experience with responsibility for all the essential elements of management, plus responsibility for two or more major projects. Experience should include work or volunteer experience with responsibility for preparing and making presentations to groups and approximately two years of professional experience developing contract conditions and monitoring them for compliance.
Below is preferred experience. It is not required for the position but applicants with this experience may receive consideration over other applicants.
- Applicant should be proficient at speaking to groups of people and using virtual meeting processes. Typically gained by 3 years' work experience speaking to groups of people and using virtual meeting processes.
- 5 years of progressive project leadership with a track record delivering large, high-risk, high-visibility, or multi-team projects end-to-end. Typically gained by 5 years including the following: Experience should include managing significant uncertainty, complex dependencies, multiple vendors/partners, and material budget/schedule impacts while achieving business outcomes.
- Experience interpreting and explaining specialized or complex material into information usable by the public. Typically gained by a background of 3 years' work experience where the interpretation of laws, policies, procedures, rules, or similar types of information were analyzed and communicated orally, in writing, graphically and/or on the web in a way that was usable by customers.
