- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
Job Description
The Logistics Technician will be integral to the warehouse team, supporting high standards in safety, accuracy, efficiency, and security. Key responsibilities include receiving shipments, transferring materials within storage areas, packaging, palletizing, and ensuring smooth shipping and warehousing operations. The role requires proactive multitasking and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. The work schedule is primarily 8-hour shifts during day hours, with potential for schedule adjustments to support late shipments, and occasional overtime may be required.
Core Responsibilities
- Foster a safety-first culture by practicing and promoting "Do It Safely, Do It Right the First Time."
- Conduct regular safety observations, report hazards, and adhere to all safety policies including HAZWOPER, LOTO, and OSHA standards.
- Participate in safety meetings and contribute to a safe work environment.
- Safely operate equipment and perform tasks to meet daily productivity goals.
- Prepare cylinders for shipment, including label removal, inspection, wrapping, barcode scanning, and loading onto pallets, ensuring compliance with DOT and **** standards.
- Execute shipping and receiving transactions accurately within SAP HANA ERP system.
- Prepare shipping documents in accordance with company and DOT regulations.
- Coordinate with carriers and internal departments for timely delivery and pickup of cylinders and materials.
- Operate forklifts to load/unload trucks and sea containers, following proper blocking and bracing procedures per IMO, IMDG, and Customs standards.
- Maintain inventory records, conduct cycle counts, and verify incoming deliveries for accuracy and quality.
- Perform regular inspections and maintenance of handling equipment.
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and secure.
- Assist with security protocols and ensure compliance with safety policies and regulations.
- Complete all required training and certifications.
- Physically capable of rolling cylinders weighing up to 200 lbs and climbing ladders safely.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 3 years of relevant logistics experience, including shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations.
- Forklift certification required.
- Strong customer service skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to understand chemical properties and hazards related to compressed gases.
- Experience with IMO, AES, and ISF filings preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and Google Workspace.
- Knowledge of 49 CFR, 15 CFR, DOT, IATA, and IMDG regulations.
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work at both Pennsylvania sites as needed.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly and climb ladders safely.
- Capable of working in a fast-paced environment managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
