Metrology Admin Buyer (NO C2C OR 3RD PARTY VENDORS!!)

Pay Rate: $24.00 - $27.00/hour

Location: Minden, NV 89423

Schedule: 1st Shift, Monday-Friday | Typically 6:30 AM - 2:30 PM with flexibility

Work Environment: Onsite

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Metrology Admin Buyer to support purchasing and administrative functions for a metrology laboratory environment. This role is responsible for creating and managing purchase orders, coordinating with vendors, maintaining records, supporting equipment management activities, and ensuring laboratory operations run efficiently. The ideal candidate will have purchasing or administrative experience, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and manage purchase requisitions and purchase orders for calibration services, metrology equipment, tooling, consumables, standards, and related services.
• Obtain vendor quotations, compare pricing, and assist with supplier negotiations when appropriate.
• Monitor open purchase orders and expedite deliveries to support uninterrupted laboratory operations.
• Maintain department documentation, records, and files in accordance with company procedures and quality standards.
• Collaborate with equipment owners to manage equipment status and calibration needs.
• Draft technical customer reports as needed.
• Ensure accuracy and timely completion of purchasing and administrative activities.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 1 year of purchasing, procurement, administrative, inventory, supply chain, or related experience.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Technical Knowledge

Experience with any of the following is a plus:

• Electrical calibration equipment such as:
• Multimeters
• Oscilloscopes
• Power supplies
• Process calibrators
• Dimensional measurement equipment such as:
• Calipers
• Micrometers
• Height gauges
• Indicators
• Gauge blocks
• Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs)
• Quality management systems and calibration traceability requirements.
• Asset management and calibration software systems.

Physical Requirements

• Occasionally lift and carry materials or equipment up to 35 pounds.
• Ability to move throughout laboratory and manufacturing environments as needed.
