Account Sales Manager

Location: Mid South Territory, USA (MS, AL, TN, AR)

Candidates should ideally reside in: Birmingham, Mobile, Jackson, Biloxi, Nashville, Memphis, or Little Rock.

Schedule: Monday through Friday, Daytime Hours

Travel: Up to 50% travel required (car and some air) / Tues-Thurs Travel, Mon and Fri in Office

Compensation: $80,000 to $95,000/year Commission and Bonus Structure

About the Role

We are seeking a high-potential, strategic, and high-motor Account Manager to lead and own our Mid-South territory. As the premier North American supplier of industrial ammonia applications, we are looking for a motivated "hunter" who thrives in a consultative sales environment and wants to deliver value far beyond a commodity price point.

In this role, you are the primary architect of your territory's success. Your focus will be on high-level relationship management, competitive account conversion, and long-term strategic growth by showcasing our total value proposition—emphasizing our safety record and technical superiority—rather than competing on price alone.

You will be supported by a strong internal infrastructure. You will collaborate closely with dedicated Customer Service Representatives, Engineering teams, and Field Service experts to deliver exceptional value to our customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Value-Based Growth: Aggressively expand our footprint by converting competitive accounts. Showcase our total value proposition—focusing on our safety record and technical superiority—rather than competing on price alone.
• Strategic Relationship Management: Act as the lead advocate for your customers, understanding their unique KPIs and buying motives to ensure long-term retention and margin health.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with dedicated Customer Service Representatives (handling order processing and logistics) and Engineering and Field Service teams (providing technical support and on-site expertise).
• Internal Networking: Build and maintain strong internal relationships across departments from a distance. Maintain proactive communication with operations and management.
• Territory Planning: Generate detailed business plans and SWOT analyses, maintaining a 3-year strategic vision for the region.

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 6 years of chemical sales experience (alongside B2B sales, technical/industrial selling, and value-based selling background preferred).
• Education: Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.); technical disciplines are a plus.
• Technical Aptitude: Experience with complex contracts and index/formula-based pricing is preferred.
• Travel: Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% to dominate the Mid-South market.
