What you will tackle
- Full overhaul of horizontal and vertical pumps: diagnose faults, disassemble, inspect, repair, and reassemble
- Interpret blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work steps and construct foundations for pump assembly and disassembly
- Operate manual, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electric tools safely and efficiently
- Use micrometers, calipers, and gauges to verify dimensions and clearances
- Work within precise limits and standards of accuracy
- Rig and move components using overhead cranes and forklifts
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 7 years as a pump mechanic or similar role with large pumps/rotating equipment
- Proficiency with hand and power tools; overhead crane and forklift operation
- Ability to read measurement tools and communicate findings clearly
- Strong oral and written communication, manual dexterity, control precision
- Critical thinking and deductive reasoning; able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Tools and equipment
- Manual, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electric tools used to operate machinery
- Micrometers, gauges, and other inspection tooling
- Fork trucks and overhead cranes
Environment and schedule
- Industrial shop with large machinery, overhead cranes, trucks, and forklifts
- Adaptable to a traditional warehouse environment
- Job Type: Full-time (in person)
- Expected hours: 40 per week
- Schedule: 8-hour shift
