Position Summary
The Bartender is responsible for providing exceptional beverage service to guests in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. This role involves crafting classic and innovative cocktails, maintaining a clean and organized bar, and ensuring responsible alcohol service—all while embodying Hyatt’s commitment to personalized service and warm hospitality.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve beverages according to recipes and Hyatt standards
- Interact with guests to take orders, offer recommendations, and provide an engaging bar experience
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area including glassware, tools, and equipment
- Verify age requirements and adhere to all responsible alcohol service procedures
- Handle payment transactions accurately using POS systems
- Restock supplies and assist with inventory control
- Communicate effectively with servers and team members to ensure seamless service
- Follow all safety, sanitation, and health regulations
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Previous bartending experience preferred, especially in a high-volume setting
- Strong knowledge of spirits, beer, wine, and classic cocktails
- Ability to remain calm and focused during busy periods
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Must possess or obtain a valid Washoe County Alcohol Awareness Card and Food Handler Card
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and varied shifts as needed
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 30 lbs
