Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Inventory Manager to oversee inventory operations and lead a small team of inventory employees at our Vandalia warehouse. This role is responsible for ensuring inventory accuracy through cycle counts, lane transfers, and discrepancy analysis. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and comfortable collaborating with warehouse leadership to resolve recurring inventory issues at their source.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and support a small team of inventory employees, providing daily direction and accountability.
- Plan, lead, and execute regular cycle counts across designated warehouse areas.
- Manage lane transfers and inventory corrections to maintain system accuracy.
- Develop and maintain count plans, including identifying priority areas and recurring problem zones.
- Investigate repeated inventory discrepancies and partner with management to address root causes.
- Communicate findings, trends, and improvement opportunities to warehouse leadership.
- Ensure inventory processes are followed consistently and accurately.
- Support continuous improvement efforts related to inventory control and accuracy.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in inventory management, inventory control, or warehouse operations required.
- Previous leadership or team supervision experience strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of cycle counting, inventory adjustments, and warehouse layouts.
- Ability to analyze discrepancies and identify process breakdowns.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience using inventory systems preferred.
Pay & Schedule
- Hourly rate up to $25/hour, depending on experience and demonstrated inventory expertise.
