Our client, a respected and growing commercial general contractor, is seeking an experienced Lead Superintendent to provide field leadership on complex ground-up vertical construction projects throughout Florida. Position Overview
The Lead Superintendent will oversee all aspects of field operations, including safety, scheduling, subcontractor coordination, quality control, and project execution from active construction through final turnover. This individual will work closely with project management and executive leadership to ensure successful project delivery while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and accountability.
This position is ideal for a hands-on construction leader who has successfully managed large-scale vertical construction projects and is ready to make a significant impact within a growing organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day field operations on ground-up vertical construction projects.
- Manage site safety, housekeeping, subcontractor coordination, logistics, and project execution.
- Develop and manage look-ahead schedules to ensure projects remain on schedule.
- Coordinate inspections, quality control, and first-work verification throughout construction.
- Partner with Project Managers and leadership on staffing, procurement, budgeting, scheduling, and risk management.
- Conduct subcontractor meetings and maintain accountability for schedule, safety, and quality expectations.
- Oversee project documentation, daily reports, punch lists, and turnover activities.
- Monitor project progress and implement recovery plans when schedule adjustments are required.
- Foster a collaborative, professional, and results-driven jobsite culture.
Qualifications
- 8 years of experience as a Lead Superintendent, Senior Superintendent, or Superintendent managing ground-up commercial or multifamily construction projects.
- Demonstrated experience leading vertical construction projects from start through completion.
- Proven success managing subcontractors, project schedules, inspections, quality control, and owner turnover.
- Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple trades and priorities simultaneously.
- Experience collaborating with Project Managers, architects, engineers, and owners.
- OSHA 30 Certification required or ability to obtain immediately.
- Florida commercial construction experience strongly preferred.
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
