What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Project Manager position at Husky Design and Build?
CONSTRUCTION PROJECT MANAGER — HUSKY DESIGN BUILD
This is not a “PM role.”
If that’s how you see it, stop reading.
This is for someone who understands that construction is war against time, budget, and poor execution—and you either dominate it, or it exposes you.
Husky Design Build does not operate like a typical firm.
We don’t babysit subs.
We don’t chase problems.
We don’t accept “good enough.”
We set the standard.
THE ROLE
You are the force that keeps projects moving at a high level—without chaos, without excuses, without delays.
You are not here to “manage.”
You are here to control outcomes.
You will:
- Run multiple residential and commercial projects simultaneously
- Drive schedules aggressively and hold every trade accountable
- Coordinate subs, vendors, inspectors, and internal team members
- Identify problems before they exist—and eliminate them early
- Maintain tight control over budgets, scopes, and change conditions
- Communicate clearly with clients who expect a high-level experience
- Work directly with a Columbia Certified CM (David Colon) and execute at that level
WHO THIS IS FOR
You don’t need babysitting.
You don’t need constant direction.
You don’t panic under pressure—you get sharper.
You:
- Have real field experience (not just paperwork)
- Understand sequencing, logistics, and how jobs actually get built
- Can walk onto a jobsite and instantly see what’s wrong
- Don’t tolerate sloppy work—and don’t allow it to continue
- Move fast, think ahead, and make decisions with confidence
- Take full ownership—if something goes wrong, you fix it
If you’ve only worked in slow, over-managed environments—this will break you.
NON-NEGOTIABLES
- Proven experience managing construction projects (residential and/or commercial)
- Strong knowledge of scheduling, budgeting, and jobsite coordination
- Ability to manage multiple projects without losing control
- Clear, direct communication—no fluff, no confusion
- High standards for quality, cleanliness, and execution
- Accountability mindset—no excuses, no finger pointing
BONUS IF YOU HAVE
- Experience in high-end residential or hospitality projects (restaurants, bars, etc.)
- Ability to read plans and catch problems before they cost money
- Familiarity with project management software
- Strong relationships with subs and vendors
- Understanding of how to protect margin while maintaining quality
WHAT MAKES THIS DIFFERENT
You are not stepping into a company that operates at the industry average.
You are stepping into:
- A company that acts as the client’s representative—we fight for the client, always
- A company that values execution over talk
- A company that builds with intention, precision, and long-term thinking
- A leadership team that moves fast and expects you to keep up
You will either:
- Rise to a level most PMs never reach
- Or get exposed quickly

If you create value, you will be compensated like it.
