The Medical Assistant II plays a key role in ensuring a smooth patient experience, maintaining accurate documentation, and supporting overall clinic operations.
Medical Assistant II Responsibilities:
- Room patients, take vital signs, and document medical history and symptoms in EMR systems
- Assist providers with exams, procedures, and patient care
- Administer injections, perform diagnostic testing, and collect specimens including phlebotomy
- Maintain and prepare exam rooms, ensuring cleanliness and proper sterilization of equipment
- Support administrative tasks including scheduling, patient intake, and EMR documentation
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and care teams to ensure efficient patient flow
- Provide patient education and support within scope of practice
- Follow clinic policies, procedures, and quality standards
- 1–3 years of Medical Assistant experience in back-office/direct patient care
- Active RMA or CMA certification (state-specific as applicable)
- Current CPR certification
- Experience in a fast-paced, high-volume clinical setting
- Basic computer skills and experience with Microsoft Outlook
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
- Willingness to complete TB screening (patient-facing role)
- High School Diploma
- Bilingual
- Phlebotomy experience
- Experience with EMR systems and HEDIS
- Additional certifications (AAMA, NHA, AMT, etc.)
- ARRT (Radiologic Tech) license
