The Medical Assistant II serves as the first point of contact for patient care, supporting both clinical and administrative functions in a fast-paced outpatient environment. This role provides direct patient care within the scope of certification while assisting providers with exams, procedures, and patient flow. The Medical Assistant II plays a key role in ensuring a smooth patient experience, maintaining accurate documentation, and supporting overall clinic operations.

Medical Assistant II Responsibilities:

• Room patients, take vital signs, and document medical history and symptoms in EMR systems
• Assist providers with exams, procedures, and patient care
• Administer injections, perform diagnostic testing, and collect specimens including phlebotomy
• Maintain and prepare exam rooms, ensuring cleanliness and proper sterilization of equipment
• Support administrative tasks including scheduling, patient intake, and EMR documentation
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and care teams to ensure efficient patient flow
• Provide patient education and support within scope of practice
• Follow clinic policies, procedures, and quality standards

Medical Assistant II Requirements:

• 1–3 years of Medical Assistant experience in back-office/direct patient care
• Active RMA or CMA certification (state-specific as applicable)
• Current CPR certification
• Experience in a fast-paced, high-volume clinical setting
• Basic computer skills and experience with Microsoft Outlook
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
• Willingness to complete TB screening (patient-facing role)

Medical Assistant II Preferred Requirements:

• High School Diploma
• Bilingual
• Phlebotomy experience
• Experience with EMR systems and HEDIS
• Additional certifications (AAMA, NHA, AMT, etc.)
• ARRT (Radiologic Tech) license
