Our client is seeking a Controller to lead their accounting operations and play a key role in supporting a fast-growing eCommerce and online retail business. This is a direct hire, on-site role reporting to the Chief Financial Officer.

What You’ll Do
- Oversee and manage all aspects of accounting operations, including monthly close, financial reporting, reconciliations, and compliance with GAAP.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 5 accounting professionals, balancing workloads and driving a collaborative, high-performance culture.
- Ensure accurate and timely sales and use tax filings and other required business registrations.
- Partner with external auditors and provide timely, accurate financial data for annual audits.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to improve efficiency through process enhancements, automation, and stronger reporting capabilities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across the organization to support sound financial decision-making.
- Assist the CFO with strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting, and risk management initiatives.
- Serve as a trusted partner on corporate financial decisions while ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal requirements.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA strongly preferred.
- Experience: 10 years of progressive accounting leadership experience in eCommerce or online retail is REQUIRED.
- Hands-on leadership style with proven ability to build, coach, and inspire high-performing teams.
- Strong experience with sales and use tax compliance and financial systems (Sage experience preferred).
- Track record of driving process improvements and automation to increase efficiency and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence and partner across all levels of the organization.
- Competitive base salary of $110,000-$120,000
