Role Overview
We are seeking an HR Administrator to join our Transformation & People Services team in Houston. This is a hybrid role requiring four days per week in the office, reflecting the hands‑on, collaborative nature of the work and the close partnership required with HR colleagues and the business.
The role supports day‑to‑day HR operations while playing an active part in modernizing how HR services are delivered. The successful candidate will operate closer to an HR Advisor than a purely transactional administrator, taking ownership of employee lifecycle activities and supporting the transition from manual processes to system‑driven workflows as Seadrill continues to enhance its Oracle HCM Cloud environment.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys problem‑solving, working directly with stakeholders, and improving processes — not just completing tasks.
Key Responsibilities
Employee Lifecycle Support
- Support recruiting, pre‑boarding, onboarding, and offboarding activities
- Collect, validate, and maintain employee documentation
- Process employment changes (job changes, personal details, compensation updates, variable pay inputs)
- Prepare HR correspondence and employment documentation
- Create and manage purchase orders (POs) related to HR activity
- Prepare and submit variable pay information to Payroll (processing remains outside People Services)
HR Systems & Process Improvement
- Support HR operations during the implementation and enhancement of Oracle HCM Cloud
- Work confidently within HR systems to maintain accurate, audit‑ready data
- Help transition HR work from spreadsheets and manual trackers into structured HRIS workflows
- Participate in automation and process‑improvement initiatives
- Identify recurring issues and propose practical improvements, templates, or job aids
Service Delivery & Stakeholder Support
- Act as a first point of contact for employee and manager HR queries
- Provide clear guidance and take ownership through to resolution
- Escalate appropriately while remaining accountable for outcomes
- Partner closely with HR colleagues across People Services, Recruiting, and Payroll
- Support global workforce operations, including offshore drilling populations where applicable
What We’re Looking For
Essential
- 3–5 years’ experience in HR administration or HR operations in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment

- Strong attention to detail and discretion with sensitive data
- Strong communication and customer‑service orientation
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word)
Desirable
- Hands‑on experience with Oracle Fusion HCM
- Exposure to automation or HR transformation initiatives
- Experience migrating work from manual processes to HR systems
- Offshore drilling, energy, or industrial workforce experience
