Applications Engineer Body Interior (Automotive)
Overview / Summary
The Applications Engineer Body Interior will provide onsite product development support, focusing on improving quality and first-time-through performance. This role involves resolving engineering issues, performing root cause analysis, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to support production and design improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and resolve engineering issues related to body interior systems (trim, instrument panel, seats, console, headliner, NVH components, carpet, etc.)
- Provide on-site support to troubleshoot production issues and drive first-time-through improvements
- Lead root cause investigations and implement corrective and preventive actions
- Perform data analysis using Excel and other tools to identify trends and develop solutions
- Support validation testing, issue tracking, and release activities
- Collaborate with suppliers, design engineers, and manufacturing teams to ensure robust designs and high-quality builds
- Support quality systems including DFMEA, PFMEA, and control plans
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
- Strong analytical skills
