Summary:

Electrode Production Operator is responsible for work that includes monitoring, analyzing, and reporting of production results and material to company staff members. Ensuring high yield and productivity for the cell production by implementing and improving manufacturing methods and processes. This position will also need to interact with other team members, customers and vendors to solve complex and/or urgent problems by identifying and evaluating alternatives or by providing needed information and advice upon request.

 Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Perform duties of preparing production floor and production machines for production 
  • Perform duties of Loading & unloading production materials to the production machines
  • Perform duties to the progress of production by maintaining the production standards
  • Prepare the Production materials need to maintain production and reduce down time
  • Report production issues on a daily basis (e.g., safety accidents, quality issues, abnormal drop in yield, vision system and operation ratio)
  • Inspect operation conditions in every stage of production
  • Perform duties and check whether semi-products comply with quality requirements including process and appearance specifications
  • Perform Preventive maintenance cleaning activity to the machines to reduce down time 
  • Perform duties and audit to the cell manufacturing process to ensure compliance of process regulations regarding the cell production process 
  • Monitor, and continuously improve the unit manufacturing processes in production area.
  • Listen, adhere, and follow direction given by supervisors and managers as it relates to your job duties, safety, quality and proper professional conduct.
  • Report production activities, results and indications on a daily basis to on-coming shift operators, supervisors and managers.
  • Analyze, and report production issues on a daily basis to on-coming shift, supervisors and managers (e.g. safety accidents, quality issues, abnormal drop in yield and operation ratio)
  • Monitor operating conditions in every stage of production process.
  • Take follow-up measures to deal with the production issues and offer improvements.
  • Establish and manage production standards (e.g. work instructions, BOM, production/quality check sheets, machine/tool/accessory maintenance standards)
  • Follow, read, understand and adhere to all work instructions, standard operating procedures, plant safety rules, quality standards, and best manufacturing practices (BMP).
  • Receive feedback through coaching from trainers, supervisors, managers and designated knowledgeable peers in order to improve professional ability, machine and process knowledge.
  • Respond to ISO/IATF certification process and customer gate evaluation
  • Manage the production assets (equipment) to ensure safety, quality and production standards are capable of being achieved on a daily basis.
  • Monitor and continuously improve the loss of the processes in production.
  • Manage and improve production environment in light of the 3R (Right materials, Right Quantity, Right position) and 5S (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain)
  • Support countermeasure plan and take follow-up measures regard preventing safety accidents in the production line
  • Manage the consumption and inventory of the raw material for the cell process
  • Manage and maintain accessory equipment including pallets, plates, and pallet jacks/tools/molds
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 Safety Compliance:

  • Must wear company-provided uniform and PPE including safety shoes, helmet, safety glasses, clinical masks, respirators (must pass fit test & medical questionnaire), and portable gas measuring device
  • Clean suite, safety shoes, gloves, hat and mask are requirement at all time, more PPE may be required as need based on your specific area 
  • Will adhere to all safe work procedures as outlined in company policies, Lockout/Tag out Policy, Confined Space policy and any safety requirements 
  • Support countermeasure plan and take follow-up measures regard preventing safety accidents in the production line and maintain a safe work place environment 
  • Ensure fellow operators are trained regularly and appropriately regarding potential safety risks and prevention measures
  • Personal cell phones, EarPods and/or any electronic personal devise are prohibited in that production floor at all time 
  • Understand and properly dispose of waste properly and in accordance with Electrode department waste disposal plan.

 Production Quality: 

  • Monitor and check whether semi-finished products comply with quality requirements including process and appearance specifications
  • Monitor quality fluctuation (especially after changing tools, and long periods of down time) and prevent/alarm quality issues
  • Take follow-up measures to deal with the quality issues in accordance with training standards, work instructions and training manuals.
  • Respond to customer audits and take appropriate measures to meet customer's product specifications and standards.
  • Adhere and Perform quality control processes, Report any quality issues immediately 
  • Document and report issues identified in the process of test and inspection


 Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED, or other related field of study
  • Minimum of 2 years of manufacturing experience
  • Communicate and process good verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to Work in a team environment & effectively communicate, Teamwork skills required
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional production members

  Preferred Qualifications:

  • Basic skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, MES etc.)
  • Able to read and write in English
  • Experience in a battery manufacturing industry
  • Basic understanding of troubleshooting 

 Physical Requirements:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
  • May occasionally lift and/or move up to up to 40 pounds.
  • Must be able to regularly stand, walk, sit, talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms to include stoop, kneel, bend or crawl.
  • Must be able to work 8-12 hours per day and up to 6-7 days per week based on operational needs. 
  • Once trained must be able to reach and pull material in through a process and reference web path maps in order to ensure process is being followed.
  • Must be able to walk up and down 6 - 8 flights of stairs multiple times during the shift in order to access processes critical to job responsibilities.
  • Once trained the employee must be able to identify pinch points, crush points, extreme temperature areas, hot surfaces and/or any unsafe situation and understand their responsibility to report this to their lead, supervisor and /or manager.

 Work Environment:

  • Must wear company-provided uniform and PPE including safety shoes, helmet, safety glasses, clinical masks, respirators (must pass fit test & medical questionnaire), and portable gas measuring device
  • Usual production environment and construction sites work environment
  • Risks include noise (above 90 dB in compressor room), high temperatures (104–122°F in various rooms), and potential exposure to hazardous materials (e.g., heating medium oil, NMP, water treatment chemicals)
