We are seeking a senior communications leader to serve as Head of Communications & Public Affairs for John Hope Bryant, founder of Operation HOPE and a nationally recognized voice on inclusive capitalism, financial literacy, and economic mobility.
This role is responsible for shaping, protecting, and scaling John Hope Bryant’s public narrative across global, national, and local platforms—spanning business media, mainstream and lifestyle publications, culturally specific outlets, and local media in “HOPE Cities” across the country.
This is not a press coordinator role. It is a strategic leadership position for a seasoned communications executive with strong judgment, editorial instincts, and the ability to operate at both national and grassroots levels.
- Lead narrative and messaging strategy across Operation HOPE, BG Digital Media, and BG Ventures
- Secure and manage media placements across:
- Business and financial media (e.g., CNBC, Bloomberg, WSJ)
- Mainstream and lifestyle outlets (e.g., Esquire, GQ, major podcasts)
- Minority-facing and community media
- Local and regional media tied to HOPE City travel and programming
- Proactively activate local media (TV, radio, business journals) in advance of city visits
- Oversee first-person content platforms including podcasts, editorial, and digital storytelling
- Ensure message discipline, brand alignment, and reputational risk management
- 12–20 years of experience in strategic communications, public affairs, or high-level PR
- Experience supporting a high-profile CEO, founder, or public figure
- Strong relationships across business, mainstream, and culturally specific media
- Exceptional writing and editorial judgment
- Comfortable advising senior leadership in fast-moving, high-visibility environments
