About the Role
Occupational Health/Safety Management System Support adoption and implementation of occupational health/safety laws, regulations, and company's standard at the manufacturing and service site.
Responsibilities
- Check the occupational health/safety laws and establish and/or revise procedure manuals
- Develop annual facility H&S goals and objectives through data deep dive analysis and auditing results
- Drive the development of specific safety and health standards including but not limited to: injury/ illness/ Near miss investigations, energy control & power lockout, hazard communications/global harmonized system (with head office), high risk maintenance tasks (risk assessment and reduction), and process safety management
- Support implementation of the maintenance tracking system as it pertains to the safety management system, develop a system/ process for coordinating, tracking and auditing work permits, MSDS (material safety data sheets) management, emergency response plan (ERT and Drill) PPE management (purchasing and provision)
- Manage clinic and medical team
- Liaise effectively with statutory authorities, OSHA and OHS representatives as needed, and also with the operations leadership, medical and plant floors
- Prepare and maintain required documents for audit by ISO , government or company's head office
- Support manufacturing safety training
- Provide orientation and job-specific safety training if required
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Occupational Safety Management, Occupational Safety Engineering, or other related field of study
Required Skills
- 14 years of relevant experience in high volume manufacturing
- 9-12 years of experience leading cross function teams and managing processes
- Associate Safety Professional (preferred)
- Certified Safety Professional
- Certified Industrial Hygienist
- Occupational Health and Safety Technologies
- Advance proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Proficiency with AutoCAD or similar program (preferred)
