What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accountant position at Hoxton Circle?
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our accounting team in North Bergen. This role will be part of a 6-person team responsible for executing core accounting processes and providing financial support that directly impacts the profitability of the business. What You’ll Do
- Manage the reconciliation of costs related to partner and digital lead generation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure proper cost recognition and timely resolution of discrepancies.
- Perform month-end close activities including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure accurate reporting and compliance with GAAP.
- Prepare journal entries and reconciliations related to payroll.
- Manage intercompany activity to ensure proper handling in the financial statements.
- Assist with external audit requests and provide supporting documentation.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to efficiency initiatives.
- Support special projects as needed and participate as an engaged member of the accounting team.
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
- 3 years of accounting experience with strong knowledge of GAAP.
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in Excel; experience with NetSuite a plus.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with external partners.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
