The Baird School & INCLUSION Tutorial Program is seeking a mission-driven Education Director to lead academic programming for students ages 5–14 who benefit from an alternative educational setting. Our team provides individualized academic, social, emotional, and behavioral support to help students succeed in the least restrictive environment.
About the RoleThe Education Director serves as the school’s instructional and academic leader, guiding the daily educational experience for students and staff. This role oversees the overall functioning of the school day, supports a positive climate, and ensures high-quality teaching and learning across classrooms. You will work closely with teachers, clinicians, and administrators to drive strong student outcomes and maintain a supportive, inclusive school culture.
Responsibilities- Lead development and implementation of curricula for diverse and alternative learners.
- Oversee new academic programs and ensure alignment with state standards.
- Support teachers and staff through coaching and professional development.
- Monitor student progress and guide data-informed interventions.
- Collaborate with leadership to promote academic excellence and innovation.
- Communicate regularly with families and community partners.
- Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment.
- Provide day-to-day leadership for the school, ensuring smooth operations, a positive climate, and consistent implementation of schoolwide expectations.
- Vermont Special Educator License (or equivalent).
- Educational Administration Endorsement.
- Experience in alternative or special education settings.
