Job Summary:
The IPQC ensures that all manufacturing processes and finished products meet the internal and external quality standards. This role is responsible for real-time monitoring of the production floor, performing technical inspections, and auditing workflows to ensure compliance with ISO standards, technical specifications, and customer requirements. The IPQC acts as a key link between Production and Quality Engineering to identify risks, prevent mass defects, and maintain process stability.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Inspections & Testing: Perform First Article Inspections (FAI), in-process sampling and lab tests, finished product inspections using precision measuring tools to ensure adherence to customer requirements and quality standards.
· Process Auditing: Conduct regular audits of the production floor to verify that operators, technicians, engineers are following work instructions (WIs).
· Non-Conformance Management: Identify, document, and segregate non-conforming materials, semi-products, and finished products.
· Data Collection: Collect, record, and maintain quality data, including in-process inspection results and SPC data.
· Root Cause Support: Assist in quality investigation and support the implementation of Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
· Perform other quality-related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Required Skills/Abilities:
· Technical Literacy: Ability to read technical drawings and blueprints.
· Measurement Tools: Proficiency with calipers, micrometers, feeler gauges, tape measures, etc.
· Office Software: Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint and email system.
· Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for documenting non-conformities and interacting with production supervisors.
· Detail Orientation: High level of precision in data entry and visual inspection to detect minute defects.
· Time Management: Strong time-management skills with a proven ability to meet strict production deadlines without compromising quality.
· Prioritization & Escalation: Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment and the judgment to escalate critical quality issues to management appropriately when necessary.
Education and Experience:
· Required: High School Diploma or GED.
· Preferred: At least 1 year of experience in a manufacturing quality role.
Physical Requirements:
· Physical Endurance: Ability to stand and walk for the duration of a shift (up to 12 hours) and move between various production stations.
· Lifting: Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds independently.
· Manual Dexterity: Ability to handle small parts and operate sensitive measurement equipment.
· Visual Acuity: Must have excellent 20/20 corrected vision and the ability to distinguish colors (for defect identification).
· Environment: Exposure to manufacturing floor elements, including noise, moving mechanical parts, and occasional temperature fluctuations. PPE (Safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, ear protection) is required.
