Direct Material Buyer (Bilingual Mandarin)

Position Summary

Hounen Solar is seeking a Direct Material Buyer to support the procurement of production materials for our solar module manufacturing operations. This position is responsible for supplier sourcing, purchasing execution, and ensuring the timely delivery of materials to support production needs. This role works closely with suppliers, planning, and internal stakeholders to maintain a stable material supply.

Key Responsibilities

• Purchase direct materials supporting solar module manufacturing

Materials may include: Solar glass, Aluminum components, Junction boxes, EVA film, Backsheet, Solar cells, Electrical components, Packaging materials, etc.

• Source and qualify new suppliers when needed

• Manage RFQs and negotiate pricing and commercial terms

• Issue and manage purchase orders

• Maintain supplier relationships, including international suppliers

• Track open orders and follow up on deliveries

• Coordinate with planning and production on material needs

• Support resolution of material shortages

• Coordinate shipment updates with suppliers and logistics team

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

• Bilingual in Mandarin(Read, Write and Speaking)

• 2 years of direct material purchasing experience

• Manufacturing purchasing experience required

• Experience with ERP or MRP systems

• Supplier negotiation experience

• Strong communication and organizational skills

• Ability to work with international suppliers

Preferred Qualifications

• Solar or electronics manufacturing experience

• Experience in purchasing industrial production materials

• Experience working with China-based suppliers

• Experience supporting cost reduction initiatives

• Experience identifying supply risks
