Position Summary
This International Logistics Specialist is responsible for managing overseas freight procurement strategy, carrier selection, and booking coordination for international shipments. This role focuses on vendor management, ocean freight sourcing, and cost control for raw material imports from Asia and other global regions.
Key Responsibilities
- International Freight Procurement & Strategy
- Manage international freight procurement activities including ocean carriers, freight forwarders, and logistics vendors
- Evaluate and select logistics suppliers based on cost, service level, and reliability
- Support logistics sourcing strategy and long-term carrier partnerships
- Negotiate freight rates and service agreements with logistics providers
- Monitor logistics market trends and recommend cost optimization strategies
Shipment Planning & Booking Coordination
- Coordinate ocean booking arrangements with forwarders and shipping lines
- Ensure timely space reservation based on production material demand
- Monitor shipment schedules and resolve booking issues
- Support logistics capacity planning for international shipments
Vendor Management & Cost Control
- Maintain relationships with overseas logistics partners
- Monitor freight cost performance and identify cost saving opportunities
- Support logistics purchasing processes and contract compliance
- Ensure vendor service performance meets operational needs
- Ensure logistics transactions follow company compliance standards
- Maintain confidentiality when handling freight contracts and pricing
- Support logistics documentation accuracy and audit readiness
QualificationsRequired
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field
- Bilingual in Mandarin(read, write and speaking)
- 3 years of international logistics or freight procurement experience
- Experience working with freight forwarders and ocean carriers
- Experience managing international shipping from Asia preferred
- Strong vendor management and negotiation skills
- High integrity and strong sense of responsibility
Preferred
- Experience in the manufacturing industry logistics
- Experience supporting raw material imports
- Experience with ERP or MRP systems is a plus
Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
