Job Overview
The Food & Beverage Server provides warm, attentive service to guests in the hotel’s dining outlets, which may include the main dining room, bar, pool area, or other assigned service locations. This role includes welcoming guests, taking and entering orders, serving food and beverages, processing guest checks, and maintaining a clean, organized service area. Full-time and part-time positions may be available. Shifts, days, hours, and schedules will vary based on business needs, including mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.

This position operates in a hotel food and beverage environment with frequent standing, walking, movement, and guest interaction. Work may be performed indoors or outdoors depending on the assigned outlet and may involve exposure to noise, weather conditions, slippery surfaces, hot items, and cleaning supplies.

Job Responsibilities

Guest Service & Order Management

• Greet guests promptly and provide friendly, attentive service throughout the dining experience
• Take accurate food and beverage orders and enter them into the POS system
• Deliver food and beverages in a timely, safe, and professional manner
• Monitor guest needs and respond promptly to requests, questions, or concerns
• Follow all company service standards, safety procedures, and sanitation guidelines

Service Execution & Efficiency

• Maintain knowledge of menu items, specials, allergens, and beverage offerings
• Coordinate with kitchen and service team members to support accurate and timely order delivery
• Manage assigned tables, stations, and service areas efficiently in a high-volume environment
• Assist with seating guests, running food, restocking service areas, or supporting other outlet needs as assigned
• Perform related duties in accordance with safe workload expectations and applicable law

Cash Handling & POS Operations

• Accurately process guest checks and handle cash and credit transactions
• Follow all check management, room-charge, and cash handling procedures
• Verify required guest information and approvals when a guest requests to sign charges to their room
• Ensure accuracy and accountability in all financial transactions

Cleanliness & Organization

• Maintain cleanliness of guest-facing service areas, including tables, stations, and assigned work areas
• Ensure flatware, glassware, plates, menus, and service items are clean, polished, organized, and properly stocked
• Assist with opening, closing, and side work duties related to assigned outlet service
• Support public-facing service-area cleanliness as assigned
• Follow all sanitation, safety, and chemical-handling procedures

Product Knowledge & Guest Engagement

• Maintain knowledge of all property amenities and on-site dining options
• Provide recommendations and answer guest questions about menu offerings
Support suggestive selling to enhance the guest experience

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience: Food and beverage, hotel, restaurant, bar, pool service, or guest service experience preferred. Equivalent hospitality experience may be considered.

Certifications: California Food Handler Card required within 30 days of hire. Responsible Beverage Service certification required within 60 days of hire for team members who serve alcoholic beverages. Additional certifications may be required based on assigned outlet, job duties, or applicable law.

Physical requirements:

• Constant standing, walking, and balancing throughout shift
• Frequent to constant bending, reaching, and use of manual and gross motor skills
• Occasional to frequent crouching, pushing/pulling, and eye-hand coordination
• Frequent carrying/lifting up to 10- 25 lbs.; occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to safely carry food and beverage items in a service environment

• Availability to work weekends, holidays, and varied shifts as scheduled; overtime will be handled according to hotel policy and applicable law
