Hospice of Orange & Sullivan Counties is seeking a motivated and creative Advancement Events & Communications Associate to support fundraising events, community outreach, donor engagement, and mission-driven communications that help elevate awareness of our hospice services throughout the region.
In this dynamic role, you will work closely with the Director of Advancement and collaborate with internal teams, volunteers, and community partners to bring meaningful events and impactful communications to life.
Responsibilities include supporting signature fundraising events (such as the annual Gala and Golf Outing), coordinating community outreach activities, developing marketing and communications materials, assisting with social media and website updates, and helping manage donor recognition efforts like the Tree of Life program.
The ideal candidate is organized, creative, and energized by mission-driven work, with strong communication skills and a passion for making a difference in the community. Experience in nonprofit events, marketing, or communications is a plus.

Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, nonprofit management, business administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.
- Five (5) years of experience in nonprofit advancement, fundraising, communications, marketing, or event management, preferably within a nonprofit healthcare or hospice environment.
- Experience with Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge or comparable donor management systems.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, digital communication platforms, social media tools, and marketing technologies.
- Experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar design platforms.
- Strong organizational, project management, budgeting, and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, vendors, and event logistics in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to communicate with professionalism, discretion, compassion, and sensitivity in matters related to hospice and end-of-life care.
- Demonstrated attention to detail, sound judgment, confidentiality, professionalism, and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with leadership, staff, donors, volunteers, vendors, and community partners while maintaining positive working relationships and strong donor stewardship practices.
- Demonstrates initiative, adaptability, creativity, professionalism, and a commitment to the mission, values, and service standards of hospice care.
- Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends as required for events and community engagement activities.
