What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Engineer (Structural Building) position at Horner & Shifrin, Inc.?
Horner & Shifrin is seeking a full-time Building Project Engineer in our Structural Business Unit . This position requires 8 years of experience.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
- Follow Building Practice production and design standards and procedures as delegated by the Project Manager
- Perform and check structural engineering calculations using company, client, and industry standards
- Participate in the preparation and checking of structural construction drawings created by teammates to meet firm and client requirements.
- Develop and check cost estimates
- Participate in the preparation of reports and studies
- Assist in the management of projects
- Coordinate with other engineering disciplines within the firm to assure successful completion of projects
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Licensed Professional Engineer in Illinois, Missouri, or Arkansas
- Licensed Structural Engineer in Illinois (preferred)
- Experience with structural design and detailing of water or wastewater plant structures or similar structures (firm requirement)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, or Microstation
- Knowledge of Structural Design Software
- Ability to traverse structural sites, including heights and rough terrain
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
- Must complete a background check
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
Master of Science in Civil Engineering (preferred)
SALARY RANGE:
Salary will be commensurate with experience.
