Personal Care Assistant

Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide exceptional support and care to individuals in various settings, including assisted living facilities, home health environments, and community-based programs. In this vital role, you will assist clients with daily activities, monitor their well-being, and promote independence while ensuring safety and comfort. Duties

• Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
• Monitor patients’ vital signs and observe changes in health status, reporting findings accurately to healthcare professionals
• Support medication administration following care plans and HIPAA confidentiality standards
• Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary
• Operate equipment such as Hoyer lifts and other mobility aids to ensure safe transfers and prevent injury
• Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks including cleaning, laundry, and organizing personal spaces
• Document patient observations, care provided, and any incidents in compliance with healthcare regulations

Skills

• Proven experience in home care, assisted living, nursing homes, or group homes; familiarity with long-term care environments preferred
• Knowledge of patient observation techniques, vital signs measurement, and medication administration
• Strong understanding of dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, memory care, autism support, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities in general
• Certified in CPR and First Aid; experience with hospice or palliative care is a plus
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely using equipment like Hoyer lifts; physical stamina for extended periods of standing or walking
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare teams
• Demonstrated ability to follow detailed care plans while maintaining HIPAA compliance and respecting patient confidentiality

Pay: $12.00 - $15.00 per hour
