Job Summary
We are seeking a caring and energetic Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will provide compassionate support to residents, assist with daily activities, and ensure their safety and well-being. Your dedication will help enhance the quality of life for individuals with various health conditions, including dementia, disabilities, and age-related challenges.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support.
- Support medication administration following care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure privacy and safety
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal service while respecting dietary restrictions and preferences
- Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning duties and manual handling procedures
- Document resident progress, update care plans, and communicate any concerns to the care team promptly
- Provide emotional support and companionship to promote mental well-being and social engagement
Skills
- Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health settings
- Strong patient observation skills to detect changes in condition or behavior
- Knowledge of dementia, Alzheimer’s, memory care, autism spectrum disorders, and neurodevelopmental disabilities
- Proficiency in caring for individuals with intellectual disabilities or geriatrics
- Experience with medication administration, care plans, and patient monitoring protocols
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality of patient information
- Competence in assisting with ADLs including feeding, grooming, toileting, and mobility support
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and manual handling techniques as required
- CPR/First Aid certification is highly preferred for emergency preparedness
