What are the responsibilities and job description for the F&B Manager position at Holiday Inn?
The F&B Manager is responsible for coordinating, supervising, and directing all property food and beverage operations, while maintaining a profitable F&B department and high-quality products and service levels. In addition, to market ideas to promote business; reduce employee turnover; maintain revenue and payroll budgets, and meet budgeted productivity while keeping quality consistently high.
Essential:
- Supervise all F&B personnel.
- Respond to guest complaints in a timely manner.
- Prepare the F&B budget and monitor department performance with respect to the same. Perform any necessary follow-up, including forecasting.
- Monitor industry trends, and take appropriate action to maintain competitive and profitable operations.
- Oversees the ordering of F&B supplies, cleaning supplies and uniforms.
- Supervises daily F&B shift operation and ensures compliance with all F&B policies, standards and procedures.
- Supervises staffing levels to ensure that guest service, operational needs, and financial objective are met.
- Coordinates cleaning program in all F&B areas (including General clean), identifying trends and making recommendation for improvements.
- Provides services that are above and beyond for customer satisfaction and retention.
- Manages day-to-day operations, ensuring the quality, standards and meeting the expectations of the customers on a daily basis.
- Reviews comment cards and guest satisfaction results with employees.
- Extends professionalism and courtesy to team members at all times.
- Comprehends budgets, operating statements and payroll progress report.
- Monitor quality of service and product.
- Coordinate menu planning and preparation.
- Ensure timely purchase of F&B items, within budget allocation.
- Ensure compliance with all local liquor laws, and health and sanitation regulations.
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or GED; 3 years experience in the food and beverage, culinary, or related professional area OR
- 2-year degree from an accredited university in Food Service Management, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major; 1 year experience in the food and beverage, culinary, or related professional area.
- Must be proficient in Windows, Company approved spreadsheets, and word processing.
- Must have knowledge of F&B preparation techniques, health department rules, and regulations, liquor laws, and regulations.
