Job Summary
The Housekeeping Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the housekeeping department to ensure all guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas are clean, well-maintained, and meet brand standards. This leadership role includes supervising staff, managing inventory, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards, and fostering a culture of excellence and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, train, and schedule housekeeping team members
- Manage daily staffing levels, task assignments, and shift coverage.
- Monitor and control housekeeping inventory and supply usage.
- Maintain accurate records of department operations, including cleaning schedules and maintenance issues.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.
- Handle guest complaints and resolve issues related to housekeeping service.
- Coordinate with the front desk, maintenance, and other departments to ensure smooth operations.
- Conduct regular team meetings and performance evaluations to promote employee development and engagement.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in housekeeping, preferably in a hotel environment required.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and hotel management software
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Knowledge of cleaning products, techniques, and OSHA safety standards.
