Description
As a Payroll Specialist, you will act as a point of contact for employee inquiries regarding payroll matters and will ensure all payroll records are maintained in accordance with company policies. You will collaborate closely with HR to manage employee on-boarding and off-boarding processes, ensuring that all payroll documentation is accurate and current. Your role will involve utilizing payroll software to manage complex calculations and reporting, so proficiency in payroll systems is crucial. Responsibilities
- Process payroll for a diverse workforce on a weekly and bi-weekly basis.
- Maintain accurate payroll records for all employees, including hours worked, deductions,
and benefits.
- Calculate and process payroll adjustments when necessary, including bonuses,
overtime, and retroactive pay.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll issues, including deductions, taxes,
and benefits.
- Generate and submit payroll reports to management and external agencies as needed.
Requirements
- 1-3 years of experience as a Payroll Specialist or in a similar role in payroll processing
and administration.
- Knowledge of payroll laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Experience handling certified payroll and union benefits reporting
- Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Excel; experience with Foundations or
similar systems is a plus.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
