Position Description:
- Hands-on experience creating real 3D models using Tekla Structures software
- Exposure to how structural steel projects move from design to fabrication
- Work alongside experienced detailers, engineers, and project teams
- Opportunities to collaborate, ask questions, and learn in a real corporate environment
- Gain an understanding of industry standards, drawings, and steel terminology
- See how your work impacts actual projects being built
- Program is offered exclusively in Topeka, Kansas
Requirements:
Engineering Students
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Architectural Engineering
- Completed coursework in Computer Graphics or Engineering Graphics
- Strong interest in structural design, construction, or steel fabrication
- Ability to read and interpret basic drawings or willingness to learn
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
Drafting Students
- Currently enrolled in a drafting or design technology program
- Must have completed at least half of the program
- Familiarity with CAD or similar drafting software preferred
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn new software (Tekla)
- Interest in structural steel, construction, or design
- Ability to work in a team environment and take direction
