What are the responsibilities and job description for the Control/Cyber Engineer position at Hitachi Energy?
The Opportunity
In this role, you will support the development of control solutions for Flexible AC Transmission Systems (FACTS) and High Voltage DC (HVDC) projects within Hitachi Energy’s Grid Integration business. You will help develop interface and communication hardware and software solutions used in installations, while contributing to drawings, site layouts, PC and network configuration, design reviews, documentation, factory acceptance testing, and site commissioning. Your work will connect engineering development with field execution, helping projects move from design through delivery and startup. During your first year, you will be based in Sweden as part of the engineering team developing HVDC controls for project deliverables, then follow the project to site to support construction and commissioning. By supporting control development, communication networks, cybersecurity processes, and safe project execution, you will contribute to the reliability, safety, and performance of critical grid infrastructure while building hands-on experience in advanced power transmission applications.
How You’ll Make an Impact
In this role, you will gain hands-on experience in advanced grid control applications while working across development, testing, and commissioning activities that support modern power systems.
With over a century in pioneering mission-critical technologies like high-voltage, transformers, automation, and power electronics, we are addressing the most urgent energy challenge of our time – balancing soaring electricity demand, while decarbonizing the power system.
Headquartered in Switzerland, we employ over 50,000 people in 60 countries and generate revenues of around $16 billion USD. We welcome you to apply today.
