Myticas Consulting is seeking a Senior IT Project Manager – IV&V to support a major public-sector client in Lansing, MI. In this role, you will lead Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) activities and provide objective oversight for large, complex technology initiatives in a highly visible, regulated environment.
You will work on a hybrid schedule, partnering closely with project managers, agency stakeholders, and executive sponsors while maintaining independent judgment. Responsibilities
- Conduct IV&V activities across assigned projects, providing independent assessments of project health, deliverables, and compliance with standards
- Review key project documentation (charters, project plans, schedules, risk registers, contracts) and evaluate deliverables for quality, completeness, and requirements adherence
- Identify risks, issues, and deficiencies early and recommend effective mitigation strategies
- Monitor project progress against scope, schedule, budget, and quality metrics, and develop IV&V artifacts such as service plans, health assessment reports, deliverable review assessments, risk/issue logs, and final summary reports
- Prepare and deliver professional-grade reports and executive briefings for steering committees and leadership
- Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders while ensuring all reports and documentation meet established quality standards and templates
- Must be based within commuting distance (approximately two hours) of Lansing, Michigan, with the ability to work on-site every Tuesday and Wednesday
- At least 5 years of IT project management experience supporting large, complex technology initiatives
- At least 5 years of experience providing Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) or equivalent quality assurance services on IT projects
- Proven experience supporting high-visibility, politically sensitive projects in public-sector or highly regulated environments
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Project Management, or a closely related field
- Demonstrated experience preparing professional-grade project reports and executive-level briefings
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
- Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), or similar agile/quality-related certification
- Experience conducting IV&V for state government or other public-sector technology initiatives
- Experience working within PMI PMBOK-based project management frameworks and formal risk management practices ———
