Based out of Houston with 75–100% travel to client sites, you will work on complex Engineer-Procure-Construct (EPC) and construction management projects across transmission & distribution and related industrial markets.
In this role, you’ll assist senior Project and Construction Managers with day-to-day field execution, including safety, quality, schedule, cost control, contracts, and documentation. You’ll contribute to high-impact projects across aviation, commercial building, power generation, oil & gas, process, water, and other infrastructure sectors, gaining broad exposure and growth opportunities in construction management.

Myticas Consulting is seeking an Assistant Construction Manager (Transmission & Distribution) to support a leading power and industrial infrastructure organization. Based out of Houston with 75–100% travel to client sites, you will work on complex Engineer-Procure-Construct (EPC) and construction management projects across transmission & distribution and related industrial markets.
In this role, you’ll assist senior Project and Construction Managers with day-to-day field execution, including safety, quality, schedule, cost control, contracts, and documentation. You’ll contribute to high-impact projects across aviation, commercial building, power generation, oil & gas, process, water, and other infrastructure sectors, gaining broad exposure and growth opportunities in construction management.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Project Management team to build strong client relationships and support proposal and project-related client interface
- Assist in developing and implementing project execution, quality, safety & health, subcontracting, staffing, organization, and procurement plans
- Support negotiation, approval, and execution of contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, change orders, and related commercial documentation
- Help plan and execute site mobilization and demobilization, secure required permits, and support bidder registration and pre-qualification
- Prepare RFPs, support scope of work development, and participate in bid, selection, and award processes for subcontractors and client contractors
- Support implementation of project specifications, drawing releases, and design changes, including RFIs, submittals, meeting minutes, and change management
- Assist with project cost reporting, scheduling, work breakdown structures, project setup/closeout, and field progress tracking
- Work with field operations and craft HR to staff projects appropriately, and support labor/equipment costing, estimating, forecasting, and earned value tracking
- Must be based within a commutable distance of Houston, Texas, USA, or willing to relocate there before the start date
- Minimum 3 years of construction experience in assistant/field/project engineering or construction management roles on commercial, industrial, or infrastructure projects
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or clearly equivalent construction experience in lieu of a degree
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
- Ability and willingness to travel 75–100% to client project sites
- Valid driver’s license and driving record that meets employer driving requirements
- Multi-year on-site construction or program management experience in transmission & distribution, power, oil & gas, industrial, aviation, transportation, water, or similar sectors
- Experience with construction project management tools (e.g., scheduling, cost control, or document control software)
- Prior exposure to EPC (Engineer-Procure-Construct) or other large capital construction projects
- Strong written and verbal communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
