What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Estimator position at HIRESIGMA?
What you will be doing:
- Work with the pre-construction team and subcontractor community to develop project budgets and analysis for the site, earthwork, and underground utilities.
- Collaborate closely with the Owner, Project Managers, and vendors.
- Execute all pre-planning site work, including estimating, schedules, proposals & agreements, earthwork, utilities, paving, project closeout, and job reconciliation.
- Work with the site development division as needed to estimate self-perform work.
- Define the scope of the project based on the bid documents.
- Develop budgets based on the scope of work.
- Obtain bids from vendors and subcontractors as needed.
- Evaluate and review bids for the complete scope.
- Compile, submit, and manage RFIs.
- Attend meetings as needed.
- Prepare proposals.
- Help maintain a historical database and subcontractor database.
- Set up projects after being awarded for handoff to the construction team.
Experience you will need:
- Knowledge/experience in commercial construction.
- Knowledge/experience in civil and underground utilities.
- Estimating experience required: 5 years.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Maintains good professional relationships.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in PlanSwift, Procore, and Agtek Earthwork 4D.
